Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Nothing is uploaded. The PDF is opened, rendered with pdf.js and rewritten with pdf-lib entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your document, your signature and your typed text never leave your device — there is no server round-trip, and after the page has loaded the tool keeps working even with your network disconnected.
Is it really free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up, no email, no watermark and no page or file-size limits beyond what your browser’s memory allows. Because there is no server doing the work, there is nothing to charge for and no account to create.
How do I add my signature?
Open a PDF, then click Sign in the side toolbar. Choose Draw to sign with your mouse, finger or stylus, Type to render your name in a handwriting-style font, or Upload to use a signature image (a transparent PNG looks best). The signature appears on the page where you can drag it into position and resize it.
What stamps can I add?
Click Stamp for ready-made rubber stamps including Approved, Paid, Confirmed, Received, Reviewed, Draft, Urgent and Rejected, a date stamp in long, ISO, US or European formats, and a custom-text stamp in your choice of colour. Each stamp is placed as a draggable, resizable element.
Which file types can I sign, and what do I get back?
You can sign any standard PDF, including multi-page documents. Signatures can be drawn, typed or uploaded as PNG or JPG images. The result is always a normal, flattened PDF that opens in Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Chrome or any other PDF reader.
Can I sign on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The tool is fully responsive and the signature pad supports touch and stylus input, so you can sign with a fingertip or a stylus such as the Apple Pencil. Every signature and stamp can be dragged and resized by touch.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
It adds a visible, handwritten-style or stamped signature to a PDF, which is enough for many everyday agreements, forms and approvals. It is not a certificate-based qualified electronic signature, so for documents that legally require a qualified e-signature (eIDAS QES, certain government or notarised filings) use a certified provider instead.
